What is a triaxon?:
A triaxon is a sponge with siliceous spicules (spines) commonly fused to form a net or box-like pattern. They are often called glass sponges. Essentially a triaxon is the spiny structural part of a sponge and are commonly found fossils in the Burgess shale above the town of Field, British Columbia, Canada.
